WilloughVale Inn Pet Policy

The WilloughVale Inn welcomes dogs. We have designated rooms and cottages for you and your dog. There are just a few rules regarding your pet’s stay.

  • We accept one dog per room or cottage, under 50 lbs, subject to approval at time of reservation. A $20.00 per night (plus tax) service fee applies. Pets are not permitted in lakeview cottages.
  • Welcome packages are provided for your pet, including a complimentary biscuit and doggie bags. Use of the doggie bags is greatly appreciated, as it helps us to keep our grounds clean for our guests.
  • Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant (Vermont State Law).
  • While on the property, pets must be leashed.
  • Please do not leave your dog unattended in your guest room or cottage for any great length of time as they often get lonesome and bored, and can to get into mischief. If mischief is reported or other guests complain of excessive barking and other behavior, Management reserves the right to remove the pet from the unattended room.
  • If we determine there is damage in your room caused by your dog, or if bedding or drapes need to be dry-cleaned due to pet odor or soilage, you will be notified and your credit card will be charged accordingly.
  • The Inn is not responsible for any pet that escapes upon the entry of Housekeeping or other Inn staff who may need access to your room.
  • Please keep dogs off furniture and bedding. In your room, you will find an extra blanket and some stainless steel bowls for your pet's use. We understand that some pets are more comfortable on the bed with their owners, and would like to ask that you use the extra blanket on the bed to protect the furnishings. The bowls are provided for your pet's eating and drinking purposes.
  • Suggested walks for your dog include the hiking trails of Willoughby State Forest and the VAST corridor extending from the parking lot up the hill into the woods. Be extra careful in the winter if you intend to use the VAST corridor, as snowmobilers move very fast and may endanger both you and your dog.
